Fascia Bodywork - 18 Hours

September 19 & 20: 8:00 - 6:00 (Saturday and Sunday)

Instructor: Marsha Mathes

The goal of Fascia BodyWork is to focus on the fascia and create a more fluid fascia rather than  ‘gel-like’. This type of massage stroke function is to create a drag on the tissue instead of a gliding.  The drag assists the fascia to become more fluid instead of gel-like. Thus, allowing the fascia to flow more freely, allowing the muscles more function and flexibility and increasing the range of motion of the joints.  Fascia BodyWork benefits are:

  • assists with increased flexibility

  • helps improve posture and balance

  • restores more efficient muscles

  • helps relieve chronic pain

  • revitalize one’s energy; as a result, providing a better quality of life

  • easier on the therapist because there’s no digit work.

  • Side-lying position taught for increased ROM for shoulders and hips

Marsha’s quest for further studies have led her to many continuing education workshops including Core Structural Integration, Ahh…Shiatsu Barefoot Massage, Thai on the Table, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Healing Touch, Reiki, Lymph Drainage, Belavi Facelift Massage, TuiNa, OrthoBionomy, Upledger Cranial Sacral Therapy, Matrix Energetics and iRest Yoga Nidra.

The instructor, Marsha Mathes, attended Kaleidoscope School of Therapeutic Massage in St. Louis, MO, and graduated in January 1998.  Currently she is a licensed LMT in the state of Alabama & Tennessee.  She taught as a massage therapy instructor at Virginia College, Huntsville, AL & her AL Massage Instructor’s license is I-115#. She is also a NCBTMB Approved Provider #326 since 2013. This class is AR approved!
